Loathing and When I Am King
Sep. 17th, 2010 08:28 am More art! One based off the musical "Wicked" and one based off the song, "When I Am King" by Great Big Sea!

You can blame my friend for force-feeding me the soundtrack from "Wicked" non-stop. Eventually it stuck, and now THIS is the result!
I wanted to include a bit with Arthur complaining that "There's been some confusion for you see, my servant is unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe....." but the piece was just getting too long!

Okay, okay - so Merlin and Arthur's loathing barely lasted two episodes, but you can't deny they got off on the wrong foot!

Okay, I was ready to throw in the towel at least three times on this one. Painting is friggin' hard enough without having to do shiny armour and damnable chainmail! That, and getting Gwen's face to look right was frustrating too... had to go through 3 mouth positions before I was finally stuck with what you see...

The good? Well, I really liked how Arthur's hand/bracer turned out, same with his hair. Also, Gwen's lace front and hair tie turned out pretty good - considering I thought I was gonna blow it! In the end, the faces came out sooo much better than I anticipated.
