CANADIANS MAY REMEMBER THIS!!!

In a conversation with [livejournal.com profile] altocello , we talked about felling trees (as west-coast folks are wont to do) and I was reminded of what I thought was a PSA for tree felling safety - but actually a cartoon for the history of logging in British Columbia.

ENJOY!!!!

I can't recall this one...but it propelled me to the NFB site where I watched many old favourites. I did get a kick out of the end...hey kids, if you take a log machine out to play with, remember not to stand behind the tree. HaHa

In 1979 I don't think I wondered whether all that lovely prairie barley from my province was being made into beer...I think that's what is implied in this Dance video (which I do remember fondly)

and Faces..which i swear put a lot of people into a meditative trance (at lease it can still do that for me)

Ooo thanks for the link! I like to think maybe they were implying that they were making into sunflower oil or canola oil or something LOL!

Yes....canola that was it. HaHa (I prefer it to be beer - :)). If you went to the site...then I'm sure you're humming the Log Drivers Waltz too?
